Olds Tank Car Safety
In November 2010, a new, state-of-the-art LPG loading facility was officially opened at the Olds gas plant.
The project was designed to help keep the gas plant and our employees as safe as possible. The new facility features fall protection cages, easy-access hose arms, proper grounding terminals, improved access and egress stairways.
"The fall protection cages are a huge improvement from the past loading rack," stated Tim Hollman, Plant Operator. "I feel much safer accessing the top of the train cars now."
Nauman Rasheed (Operations Manager), Joe Halerewich (Superintendent), Phil Goldsney (Manager, Safety) and members of both the Technical Services and Operations teams were on hand for the grand opening.
"Pengrowth upper management and Olds leadership deserve praise for placing worker well-being as a top priority," said Phil. "This upgrade speaks volumes to the company's commitment to safety."
